Listen to the beginner piano arrangement of Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken.
Some think that this hymn by John Newton (author of Amazing Grace), is his best. “It is a noble description of the people of God, under the protection of their supreme leader.” Newton wrote five stanzas. The song appeared in the famous Olney Hymns book, published in 1779, compiled by Newton and William Cowper. The words were later set to the tune Austria by the famous classical composer F. Joseph Haydn.
