The words of the hymn All That I Am I Owe to Thee are taken from the 1912 Psalter, a project of 10 Presbyterian and Reformed denominations. The tune, Federal Street, was composed by Henry K. Oliver (November 24, 1800-August 12, 1885). He was an American who served as the 5th Mayor of Lawrence, Massachusetts; the 21st Mayor of Salem, Massachusetts; as a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives; the Adjutant General of Massachusetts; and, as the 26th Treasurer of Massachusetts. At the World’s Peace Jubilee in Boston, Massachusetts, June 17, 1872, he conducted a choir of 20,000 voices in this hymn set to his own words, Hail, Gentle Peace. The Federal Street tune has been set to many different hymns.
